Agneepath - Hindi Movie Review

So after finishing Casanova I ran into to Athulya theater at Tvm to watch Agneepath . The main things which made me to watch this movie on its very second day is firsly ' Sanjay Dutt' and secondly ' Chikini Chameli' . The things which made me against this movie was this is the one which grabbed the award from Thilkan for Perumthachan  and went to Amitabh....So I was seriously thinking what the big thing Amitabh has done in the original which made Thilkan outnumbered ....Anyway I decided to watch it.....Here goes my review

Agneepath - Wonderfully crafted

After watching a simple story which made complicated in the screen....I saw a simple story which is wonderfully crafted in the screen....Yeah Agneepath is rocking in all senses....Whether its Sanju Baba....whether its Hrithik....Whether its Chikini Chameli....the movie is full of positives which will make you watch this one and say 'Muttu padam Aliyaaa'( In Tamil...Machi sama padam daa and Hindi Mazaa movie heah yaar)....So lets come to the movie again....movie is on a flow always from start to end eventhough I can say some 15 minutes from here and there can be trimmed. Each character is performing their role very well.....Among all of them I will give a thousand claps to Sanjay Dutt..... He literally was rocking in the looks.....Amazing yaar....This villain will stand in my mind for a long time for sure....He gives everyone a stomach full of fear :)...... and then Hrithik Roshan....wonderful acting...His selection of roles are very good that he himself is walking through the path Amir Khan is followed or following...Every scene he is giving the same power packed performance Amitabhji has delivered in the original and here the director has well used the 10 pack physique of Hrithik very well ....

I dont want to distinguish between the first half and the second half.... because the movie excels in both parts....Some negatives I felt was that Priyanka Chopra was wasted nothing for her do.....I dont think she is required in the movie....The movie might feel a little dragy somewhere thats what I told in the first itself some 15 minutes can be trimmed off. Thats all....Then the movie is filled with hell lot of positives....Nice song placements and good songs too ....including the KAT rocking in Chikini Chameli....the song has already became the Sheila of 2012.....Then Rishi Kapoor and other co stars also had done a very well role ....But the movie is all about Vijay Chauhan vs Kancha.....and they have done it very well....No air stunts....no sumos or traveras flying in air....Clean battle for a strong villain with a more powerful hero....Camera work also deserves a mention along with the art work....Both rocks in the movie.....All over everything is nicely placed and well crafted......

Anyway My rating is 8.5/10......Must watch

Casanova - Malayalam Movie Review

So time for Malayalam again......This time I m writing review for the most expected movie in recent times.Yeah its ''' Casanova''''.....perhaps the promoters would like to call it as'' Confident Casanova''.....I planned for two movies today Casanova and Agneepath. Casanova was the first one to watch. The factors which made to watch this movie was the very huge expectation the movie built up among the viewers and that too getting firmed again by releasing the movie in 200 theaters, the highest among any malayalam movies.The factors which made me to think twice before watching this movie is that none of Mohanlal's so called expected movie made into the hit chart after Narasimham and another thing is that I dont really like him wearing the full eye covered Cooling Glass and Suits......May be thats strictly personal.....but I like him a lot when he comes in normal man's dress.....and strictly that too is personal.....Anyway entered into Trivandrum Kairali theater after a long time for the morning show and here goes my review


Casanova --- A letdown

So coming to the movie......The movie starts usually started with the suspense around hero's character and then our Casanova enters into the scene.As usual , sorry my readers...no story or pieces of it.....The villains master power was Parkour stunts...but I just want to say to Roshan that don't ever attempt this kind of stuff anymore. What the hell he thinks,,,,People can be fooled because they dont know about Parkour.....Every scene of that stunt in the movie you can see how the guys performing it is used a rope for it....Roshan you should have hired someone who is well aware of the stuff.....The stunts your villains performs felt like a mockery . Ok lets come to the interesting part of the first half....Its none other than our Lalettan......Amazing actor......look at the ease by which he is carrying out the role....Look at the voice modulation he has given to the character....Perfect....I dont know whether any actor in India will do this role which this much perfection but on the other side everything on the movie is failing miserably even the five language speaking Jagathy seemed to be resembling the character from SAJ....But still the first half is nice and watchable only because of Mohanlal and you can add some good chicks too :P

Coming to the second half......Totally out of mind....yeah sometimes you feel to walk out of the theater and have a tea and come back because that much dragging is there in the movie....Mohanlal doesnt have even a single scoring scene in the second half even then the entire movie was on his shoulders only.....A miserable script caused this.....The scenes with Shreya needs to trimmed to a lot as it cause a ton of drag....Another positive part of the movie is a wonderful color tone which is maintained across the movie which will make you feel that the movie is technically much better than usual ones...yeah its much better tooo......Some car sequences are an example for that....But I just want to tell the script writer and Roshan one thing....Neither the Supercars ,Limousin's or the Helicopters will make audience sit n watch the movie....Dubai was an example for that kind of movie when the director thought so and the end result was a disastrous flop.....Nothing I felt will make you watch the second half..except the climax suspense......At the end you might feel that why all this stuff is needed for telling this story.....Anyway it just got happened.....Character selection went wrong any many places....Villains characters are almost waste no power at all......Jagathys character turned to be a waste as the powerful actor got wasted like anything....The main and most biggest thing of this movie is Mohanlal.....You can watch it for him....Just for him...the movie doesnt have a content at all.....I have seen the camera angles in Notebook also....long shots and the one from the right upper cross angle....Roshan time to change it......

My rating is 5/10----Watch it for the hype and for Mohanlal......Nothing other than this is there in the movie

Beautiful- Malayalam Movie Review

So after a long time this time my write is about a malayalam movie which created waves across all movie goers in Kerala.....Seeing my interest in movies, many of friends suggested me that ' Beautiful is the movie that you must watch' and in the busy schedule I missed the movie in Tamilnadu...Many times decided to go but missed out...So after long two months since the movie is released, I watched the movie ....

Beautiful- Beautifully Beautiful

What I need to say about this movie.......I really fell in love with two things one is the " Mazhaneer Thullikal....." song and next is Meghna Raj....:P........Ok lets come to the movie.....yes this is one of finest crafted movies of the decade....I would say finest in South India itself.....The movie gives the feel of the music and flows like that for the entire 1.45 hours....I dont know whether people would say 'drag' is there.....I would suggest them to watch a Kim Ki Duk movie......Big salute to Anoop Menon and V K Prakash....who are the key people behind the movie and a heartful thanks to the producer who bravely produced this one......

The pluses of the movie is a wonderful script which was very well directed. I have seen many movies of V K Prakash and felt like I watching ad films.Positive was the first movie which changed my mindset about this director and this time Beautiful makes him my list of good directors.The another mega plus of the movie is the music.....wat a music yaaarrr......Amazing....Lyrics+ tunes.....Mind blowing......especially Mazhaneer Thullikal and Moovanthiyay....I cant believe Anoop is writing lyrics for the first time....I dont know how to describe this guy.....Sakalakalavalabhavan.....:) ......Then coming to Jayasurya....superb acting....we can feel the positive spirit in his looks and facial expressions but I felt he failed in the area of voice modulation which is on the most important parts when you are playing these kind of roles...May be the character is designed to follow the usual dialogue delivery....Anyway Jayasurya is getting miles ahead of his co stars by wonderful selecting of these kind of roles...Kudoss :) ...Keep going....Then coming to Meghna Raj....Beautiful ....Lady u are soo beautiful......I just felt in love with her in that Mazhaneer thullikal song background........Keep it up and good selection of characters :)......Malayalam industry is in lack of actresses so you have a wonderful opportunity.Nice comedy too.....'Valiyee pinee Sidharthan enu vilikan patumoo'.....I laughed thousand times hearing this and 'Kozhik thooran time kanileloo'....Natural dialogues which creates best comedies..

Negatives of the movie.....mmmm.....Is there any negatives??.........I would say Tini Tom was not so apt for this role......failed at here and there....Indian Rupee placed him as an actor in my mind rather than a comedian....but this one makes me doubt about his abilities.....Rest all characters are nice....Aptly selected and nicely performed....I m a man who always look deeply into the character selection....Anyway nicely done......So almost no negatives and this one remains my best movie of 2011

My rating is 9.5/10.....This is the movie Malayalam industry was expecting for a long time.....to show the world that still that we are here ......still alive...with wonderful stories and amazing craftplays...

Nanban- Tamil Movie review

This one was an expected one eventhough its a remake. The reason was firstly its the remake of a wonderful orginal(3 Idiots) and secondly the remaking director was the best in India itself.These two things made this one more expected than a Vijay movie which is coming after a well outing of Velayudham.Anyway I was eager to watch it out eventhough I have watched 3 Idiots 2 or 3 times. So I booked the tickets at AGS Multiplex complex in Chennai for a morning 8 am show and reached there in time but unfortunately they told me show has been rescheduled to 8 45 but that was not an issue at all because there were lot of beautiful girls all around which will keep my eyes busy for another 45 minutes :) .....Then I entered into the theater after a long roaming around :P ....and the movie started

Nanban - A Remade Success

Before watching this movie I have made my mind to forget the 3 idiots and watch this one with a fresh mind.I was used to this stuff from my earlier days of movie watching.Ok...so the movie started...after some 5 minutes,the title song came up "En friendeee poleeyaru machaaa".........Harris Jayaraj scored here...nice tune in par with the song in orginal in the same situation....then movie unfolds and goes onnn,.......As usual no story lines in my review....movie as a whole stands out eventhough people might say its a scene by scene remake...every character was so aptly selected and made a wonderful acting especially I would mention Satyaraj and Chathur's character(sorry I dont know the name)....Satyaraj character showed a range of emotions while Boman Irany used to have a sense of same emoticon all over.....and the Chathur's character was well done and no comparisons in both versions.Jeeva and Srikanth has also done well but Srikanth failed to impress as Madhavan did in original....many a times his acting didnt came up with the situation but still its not bad and its good bt not the best...Jiva has done a wonderful role as usual playing the character very well....Then S J Sooryah added more life to the character than Javed in the original....Sooryah's normal face expression actually suits to the character...Then comes the big comparison VIJAY vs AMIR .....We know abt Mr Perfectionist and how easily and I would say how wonderfully Amir Khan carried out the role in original....What I felt is that Vijay also has scored very well and made an acting in par with Amir in the original but slipped out in places like in climax....Vijay was into the character and made a wonderful delivery of message the movie was intended to deliver...I m not saying vijay is a better actor than amir but in this movie he made in par with amir and he can be proud of .....and then comes ILENA vs KAREENA......Eventhough I felt Kareena has more screenspace or screenfelt Ilena was looking amazingly beautiful.....What a beauty yar...Kareena is long behind her in this and a belly dance from Ilena makes her again on top of Kareena . The only thing bad about Ilena is the dubbing part which is like a  non tamil girl...Rest all Ilena scores


About the technical aspects of the movie.....Shankar direction stands on top of Raju Hirani's I would say the wonderful picturisation of songs and some camera sequences made me to think so. Songs are visual treats....In Orginal I felt Zobbie Dobbie is so flat backgrounded but Shankar has scored all on that.The camera work also scores in Tamil and same with editing...The very big let down of the tamil version is the music except "En Friend pole" no songs will stand on ur mind but in original all songs will stand in your mind even after you leave the cinema hall.....Overall a movie in par with the original

Rajapattai - Tamil movie Review

So I planned to watch this one because of one reason that Vikram is doing a mass masala role after a pretty long time and I booked my tickets..........So lets go for the review

Rajapattai - A total disaster 

I dont know where and how to start the review of the movie......Starting from titling, this is one of the worst titling and BG I have seen this year....Even then I waited for Vikram and then the he pitched in with a wonderful intro....I liked the dialogues at that time and I hoped something good is waiting for me and the initial part of screenplay delivered something ( like the dialogues " Entha situationilee song ilaaaa)....but then the movie went haywire......Even Vikram seems too be torchering  sometimes with his weird looks......I dont know what happened to Sucheendran the director who delivered some good movies in the past....Director is actually helpless here because screenplay has nothing in it......Deeksha Seth the heroine was beautiful but she has nothing much to do....Songs failed like anything not even a single good song ......and remember for a tamil movie songs are so integral in deciding the fate of the movie....Vikram is not going to get anything from this movie.....I dont think even any actor is going to get something from the movie.....The most expected item song featuring Shreya and Rema Sen comes at the end of the movie....People at time not even bothered to watch it out...they are running out of the theater.....I felt many people including me sat over there because we paid some 150 per ticket.....Nothing more about this movie

My rating is 2/10..........Watch it if you want to feel irritated 

Don 2 - Hindi movie Review

So this time it was pretty planned.....incase planned very well to watch the very first show of Don 2 at Chennai. So I booked the tickets on AGS multiplex,Chennai for 12 15 pm show which was the first show in Chennai....My decision was purely based on one factor ...Farhan Akhtar......I calculate him on the genre of different species which can deliver something extra ordinary

Don 2 - Don still rules as the king of Bollywood

I took my seats 15 minutes before the show and was eagerly waiting for the first shot in silver screen. And then it started with a long and wide shot of a river and there I have seen the quality movie waiting for me.Then DON enters into the scene....aree wahaaa...What a look SRK..... ultimately superb then intro of DON and to make sure he is most invincible .....a Thai styled stunt sequence I can say the same has been copied from a Korean movie ' Me and My brother' but if you say so then you can point a hell lot of Korean and Thai movies. But the editing and sequences are done with most perfection. A Farhan touch can be seen all over the movie....One thing I felt is like whether SRK is over Don-ed on the move.....Every dialogue will indicate that he is the supreme powerful.But it is well covered with a master villain and his associates so that you wont feel SRK is only master in this movie....Farhan has well crafted the characters so that the villain will stand top on a level  in par with hero and that makes entire Don-2 a nice treat

This time rather than showing the Don powers, SRK sketches out a plan and makes others to play their parts on it.And this gives a feeling that we are watching an international movie  like Italian Job or something on that sort and when the same thing accompanies by a wonderful direction from Farhan makes the entire movie on par with DON -1 and stunt sequences also requires a mention here...and international touch can be felt here also....( I m waiting for Players....the trailer showcase some wonderful sequences)......Then about the other characters, everyone played their part very well.....I can say that Boman Irany was underused they should have leveraged something more from him and same with Ompuri....but the plot of the movie justifies that.....Priyanka has more screenspace than the first part....Kunal Kohli has nothing much to do and same with Lara Dutta

The NEGATIVES I felt about this movie is that the loving sequence towards the climax should have been trimmed off. The other thing is the movie may sound little confusing at the end ....( you can feel when u watch it) and this depends on viewers. and finally Music..the old theme is still sounding in all songs..May be songs are not so important...No more negatives as per my view

The POSITIVES are  yeah.....Farhan and SRK and the ultimate style they gives in every part of the movie.........Ultimately brilliant....SRK maintained the same charm of the first DON.Wonderful camera work and editing which doesnt plays a spoil even at any point of the movie....Best action movie of the year....A sequel I felt which maintained the standards or above the standards of first part...The nice screenplay which makes SRK or the DON much more attractive and stylish.......and finally a nice Guest appearance from another top star........:P


Yeah this movie is filled with a hell lot of positives which make you walk to the theater and watch it ....A fantastic movie of the year....Thumps up to SRK and Farhan.....Expecting for Don 3 as you shows on climax...... :).......

.My rating is 8/10...........Watch it for the best hindi action movie and also for the wonderful reincarnation of SRK as DON......
